Directors

The directors of the Liverpool Culture Company are responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation.

Kris Donaldson - Director of the Liverpool Culture CompanyKris Donaldson
Kris Donaldson is responsible for developing the global marketing strategy and the development of the new brand.

He made his name in Australia, working for bluechip companies such as Visa.

In 1995 he was appointed Marketing Manager for the Sydney Olympics with specific responsibility for international sponsorship.

Prior to joining the Liverpool Culture Company he was Director of Marketing Partnerships for ClearChannel Entertainment.

Claire McColgan - 2008 Executive ProducerClaire McColgan
Claire McColgan is responsible for producing the programme for Liverpool's European Capital of Culture year.

Corby-born, Claire has adopted Liverpool as her second home and for the past 5 years has immersed herself in the development of the Creative Arts programme across the city

Claire has been heavily involved with the city and its race to become European Capital of Culture. She joined the Liverpool Culture Company in 2000, and has  created and managed the cultural programme for the public involvement in the Capital of Culture bid which was cited as the major factor in Liverpool's success.  

She designed, produced and managed the unique Creative Communities Programme from inception to present. She also managed Liverpool's 2007 birthday celebrations including the bicentenary of the abolition of slavery and worked closely with artists and cultural organisations on all levels to make 2008 a success.

She produced the opening events for 2008 and is responsible for the participation programme. 

Fiona Gasper - 2008 Executive ProducerFiona Gasper
Fiona joined the Liverpool Culture Company in October 2004 and is responsible for development and delivery of the arts programmes for the themed years building up to Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture and the 2008 programme.

Previous to this Fiona worked as a freelance arts consultant and producer for a range of arts/cultural organisations and local authorities including Youth Music, RSC, Birmingham City Council, Trafford MBC, Chester City Council, Halle Orchestra, Community Arts NW and in senior management roles for several regional and national arts and cultural organisations including Contact, West Yorkshire Playhouse, English National Opera, and Nottingham Playhouse.

Paul Newman - Communications DirectorPaul Newman
Paul Newman is responsible for overseeing the Liverpool Culture Company's public relations and public affairs. 

Paul spent more than 20 years as a broadcaster for organisations including BBC network news and Sky. Paul had two spells as a reporter and presenter for BBC North West and has wide experience of reporting on events in Liverpool.

Before joining the Liverpool Culture Company, Paul worked in a number of high-profile public relations roles in sport and local government. Until 2003, he was Director of Communications at the Football Association.
