Environmental Policy
Liverpool Culture Company's Environmental Policy
Our aim
To improve the environment in Liverpool by recognising the Culture Company's impact upon it, and implementing an Environmental Management System to manage those impacts that are most significant.
Our staff
We provide environmental training for employees of the Culture Company and Councillors. We also consult our staff as widely as possible on new environmental activities and encourage their active involvement wherever we can.
Contractors and suppliers
We work with our contractors and suppliers to improve environmental performance and ensure that, when working for the Culture Company, they adopt equivalent environmental standards.
Environmental Information
We encourage the people of Liverpool to protect the environment by providing appropriate information and advice.
Working together
We work with schools and partners to raise environmental awareness and encourage action aimed at improving the quality of our local environment
We implement this policy through ISO14001:2004 and by:
-
Assessing, in advance, the environmental impact of changes to our activities and the products we buy
-
Reviewing our environmental impacts as an organisation and by setting up systems to monitor this impact regularly
-
Establishing procedures to monitor our compliance with this policy and developing procedures to tackle any non-compliance with our environmental policy, objectives and targets
-
Committing to continual improvement and prevention of pollution
-
Compliance with legal and other related requirements
This policy supports Liverpool City Council's corporate aims to be a green and sustainable city by:
-
Minimising waste and increasing recycling rates
-
Contributing to the development of better public transport facilities
