Congratulations to Karen McAllister who won the pair of tickets to the MTV European Music Awards.

She answered correctly, Troy McCoy and the winning response to what Liverpool European Capital of Culture meant to her:

"As a full-time working woman - a daughter/ sister/ aunt/ wife/ mother and grandmother - in all these 'guises' I've been entertained and enjoyed varied & numerous events from the Opening Concert to tonight's Lantern Concert - it's been brilliant with loads still to do - at 48 I've got a social life again and all in my city!!"

Oh, What a Show!

The 15th MTV Europe Music Awards exploded with 9 spectacular performances, a witty and "fruity" debut performance by host Katy Perry, plus 30 Seconds to Mars provided between performance antics and banter from the VIP bar at the Glamour Pit.

Riding a Cherry Chapstick, Katy Perry opened the proceedings surrounded by cheerleaders in a performance of 'I Kissed A Girl'. Beyoncé took to the stage at the MTV EMAs for the third time with a riveting and classy performance of new single 'If I Were A Boy.' Also returning to the EMAs, after a fifteen year break, Take That mesmerised the audience with an exclusive first performance of their new single, 'Greatest Day.'

The Killers revealed the versatility of the set when the screen lifted up to reveal the band performing 'Human' in a steel box installation accompanied by stunning three dimensional visuals. Kanye West and Estelle both made their performance debuts at this year's show with a stylish rendition of 'Love Lockdown,' and 'American Boy.'

Fresh from her own Award victory, Katy Perry introduced the debut performance by The Ting Tings who performed their hit single, 'That's Not My Name.' Another debut followed when Kid Rock took to the stage performing his new single 'So Hot' which morphed into the summer hit of 2008, 'All Summer Long.'Duffy - in her MTV Europe Music Award's debut - performed 'Mercy.' Continuing MTV's love affair with Liverpool, The Wombats then took to the stage and performed a cover version of Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love.'

P!nk provided a shattering finale to the fifteenth MTV Europe Music Awards with a stunningly energetic performance of 'So What.' Storming from the glamour pit through the crowds to the stage, she was joined by 30 fans who engaged in a pillow fight - which ended with the whole audience being showered with 40,000 4-inch white feathers.
